astroglide lubrication
which lubrication is best?

I’ve heard about pre-seed online, that it’s better than using something like astroglide for ttc. Is this true? Has anyone gotten pregnant using lubes other than pre-seed?

Normal, fertile cervical fluid with the proper pH is the best. Sperm thrive in seminal fluid (pH of 7.2-7.8) and the vagina is often much more acidic than that, except during the period nearest ovulation. KY jelly is toxic to sperm and should NOT be used when TTC.

Evening Primrose Oil is a commonly used lubricant for those TTC. It alkanizes the cervical fluid, as does preseed.

From the first link in my sources section:
“Discontinuation of lubricants, with the possible exception of vegetable oil, is recommended while attempting fertility. Most lubricants including KY jelly and surgilube are toxic to sperm and can interfere with their survival. Astroglide is a commercially available synthetic lubricant that is not associated with known sperm toxicity.”

Good Luck!!
