Is it OK to use K-Y jelly as lube on your ears?

I was at a tat shop buying new plugs and the owner of the store told me if i had trouble getting my plugs in to use K-Y jelly to help them slip in. That just didn’t sound good to me but then again I’m not a pro. By the way my ears were at 7/16(11mm) and i was going up to 1/2in (12.7mm) if that makes any difference.

You can but there are better things to use like vitamin E, jojoba, or emu oil. They help the stretch and and help breakdown/slow the development of scar tissue.
